筋肉少女帯 (Kinniku Shōjotai) – 高木ブー伝説 (Takagi Boo Densetsu)
Recorded at Echo House, April 1987.
The band’s second 7″ release on Nagomu Records. There’s a well known story among od time fans behind this record. The title track is a humorous song about the famous comedian [a=Takagi Boo], but it was released without a legal permission from Takagi’s side. Upon releasing and selling a bunch of copies, sometime during the early 1988, the band Nagomu label received threatening calls from someone claimed to be a legal rep for Takagi. They had to cease and desist, and recall all remaining copies of the 7″ and stop selling them. However, the calls turned out to be a prank, so they re-recorded the song when they signed to a major label and it was intended to be included on the 1988 “[r=2759735]” album. This time the band facing a legit legal threat coming from Takagi’s management office, but after finally getting a personal approval from Takagi and even becoming friends with him, the band re-recorded the song again and released it as a stand-alone CD single “[r=7775183]” (Ganso Takagi Boo Densetsu) in December 1989. The 1988 album outtake, first re-recorded version of the song remain unreleased until the 1993 “[r=15166663]” compilation album release with the song retitled to 高木ブー大伝説 (Takagi Boo Dai-densetsu).
