A2, B1 & B2 were taken without permission from a DAT given to Joe Lewis when he was in the UK in 1995 by [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/Jamie+Read]Jamie Read[/url]. The DAT contained music made during a period when Read was recording at the studios of [url=http://www.discogs.com/label/10th+Planet]10th Planet[/url] with Lee Purkis, Chris Hartley and David Manuel (the 3 of whom ran 10th Planet and recorded as [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/Insync+vs.+Mysteron]Insync vs. Mysteron[/url]).

Read was keen to have his music released on [url=http://www.discogs.com/label/Relief+Records]Relief[/url], a label with cult status in the underground UK scene. He gave the DAT to Joe Lewis for the purpose of giving to Relief as potential material for the label. Some time later these tracks appeared on Relief as a Joe Louis release entited “[url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1934]Back To The Beginning[/url]”, with no credit to the people who actually produced them. A while later, further material from this DAT was released under Louis/Lewis’ name on “[url=http://www.discogs.com/release/34130]The Beginning And The Ending[/url]” on Lewis’ own [url=http://www.discogs.com/label/Target+Records+(US)]Target Records[/url] label and on “[url=http://www.discogs.com/release/137558]Netherlands EP[/url]” on [url=http://www.discogs.com/label/Basement+282]Basement 282[/url], again with no mention of the actual producers.

10 years later (2005) [url=http://www.discogs.com/label/Peacefrog+Records]Peacefrog Records[/url] in the UK, unaware of the actual origin of the music, released several of the tracks from these 3 records on this 12″ and an album entitled “The Return Of Joe Lewis”, which was released on both [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/482148]vinyl[/url] and [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/486645]CD[/url].
